Blah, Blah, Blerkity Blah
Each quarter I come on here and post updates about the progression of the development of Epimetheus. It is a way to both display progress and ensure those who are following that I have not wavered in my dedication to this childhood dream. It also serves as a platform to share common pitfalls and opportunities in the realm of indie game development, for the casual developer.
However, there have been times where I fell into patterns of sharing personal struggles and challenges. Over-sharing is a symptom of ADHD. One that needs to be discontinued if I am to portray a professional, polished game to the masses. While I do want people to enjoy the game, I also want my followers to understand the trials that one is faced with when pursuing a task as monumental as this one.
That being said there really is not much to discuss this quarter. All of the progress has been personal. I had briefly probed ChatGPT about its development in learning as a result of our interaction. It stated that AI progression of the program was restricted to paid accounts. So that step is on the back burner until a substantial list of needed art assets has been accumulated. Who is to say whether that statement is even true or if it is a clever ploy by its creators.
With a new employer and a leadership position at my church, free time is rare. Large chunks of confirmed free time are needed to adequately focus on web development classes. Additionally, stress management has become a consumer of much of my downtime as I adjust to the unreliable income and new management styles of my current employer.
However, one of methods of stress management is to unwind in my classic past-time: Minecraft. With the new live-action movie in theaters and a general media buzz about the game, A realm is being built for people to explore and enjoy. Interested in joining? Friend request ReconRahl2669 and I will include you in the realm. Or you can follow this <link>.
The idea is to add storylines to the server coupled with appropriate add-ons and generically present the World of Epimetheus. Nothing too detailed, Just a fun server where the title is tossed out there along with some of the races and related conflicts that make up the backstory of our beloved game project.
So check our Realm out, drop us a message or just return next quarter for the quarter two update. Take care and remember to let your imagination run wild!
