Caverns to Shores

The creation of a civilization from scratch is both complex and revealing. As I read through this quarter's update , the influences that have shaped this team's work is at times funny. Someone might have suggested that we can use those influences as Easter eggs. Some of us think that person just might be a genius. If you have been following along then you know that each quarter of the year a civilization is focused on for development. The decision of who recieves this attention is voted for by Facebook followers. As the DP of this team, much of the workload falls onto my shoulders. There was such a limited response to the last poll that I was able to sway the decision of the poll with very little effort (sorry Ben). I really had no desire to develop the Gnomes yet as they feel more like a spring quarterly project than a winter one. Cyclops happen to live in an area called the Barrens, a relatively inhospitable rocky region with constant snow and ice. So faster than old sleep...

Where's the Content?

Image
I bet many of you are wondering: why the gap in posts? Well this page, Team Epimetheus, serves as the front page of our collaborative efforts. However, there are a total of eight pages (blogs) all tied together. These other blogs, or lairs as we like to call them, were created to make navigation of our accomplishments as well as overall direction both more manageable and easier to browse through. Eventually, we will purchase a domain and transfer all of this to a private website. For now, Blogger has provided an amazing platform that costs absolutely nothing to utilize. I really am a fan of what is possible with Blogger, and applaud their services. So what are these other pages that I speak of? I am glad you asked that question. Let me give you a quick tour of our creative realm. Grab your torches, lock-picking tools and let's gear up for an adventure the likes of which will never be matched again in this digitized world! You are of course aware of our cover page: Team Epime...

Vetted Followers Delight

Image
Team Epimetheus has come a long way since it was first created in July of 2018. We have: changed the theme, added a forum , provided people with a list of tasks that need to be accomplished, detailed how our " Credit to Royalties " program works, disseminated  a lot of information by setting up the "Creative Lairs" to make navigating game aspects easier and even a Go-Fund-Me page for people who have more money than time (God bless 'em). This was almost all done by one person believe it or not. When you consider the work put into remastering the individual races artwork alongside all of the aforementioned work, well  I should hope that you are mighty impressed. All of this is mentioned for a few reasons. First, these posts are the Team's way of updating everyone on what we have accomplished. Second, we have some new additions to the team. My daughter has begun to beat the drum in various forms of social media, which is pretty amazing. Thank you kiddo, ...

Naughty naughty naughty

Image
Did you know that 'naught' is the root word of 'naughty'? It is an English word meaning 'nothing; zero'. I mention this interesting tidbit of info because I did not write the post at its regular allotted time. So you see, I was naughty for writing naught. If you are shaking your head right now, don't worry I earned it, lol! Though this was in part because the first of the month is when we publish a new section of the story , there was also this factor of exhaustion that I cannot seem to shake. Ordinarily, I would simply buy a Monster or Redbull and get back on track. Alas, those methods are unhealthy and have long-term consequences that simply out-weigh any benefit. However, if you have checked out the new installment to the aforementioned story, you will see that it is substantially larger than last month's. Considerably more exciting too if I say so myself. What did you say? " So what slacker. You still had a whole week. " Well, that is ...

Into the Nathan-verse

We need more content! Nothing keeps people coming back like content. These days content seems to include everything from dumping liquid on your head to streamers tearing each other down. But Team Epimetheus holds itself to a higher standard. We follow the 'Golden Rule'. Hey don't get us wrong we find much of that stuff just as entertaining as the next guy/gal, but we are not interested in setting a bad example. In fact, we cannot afford to. We represent an idea that has its roots in integrity, maturity, and community. The opposite of putting others down. Besides, there are plenty of other venues to find that sort of 'entertainment'. So to keep everyone abreast of what is going on right now, as you may have noticed we are still constructing the topic-specific blogs. One of the things that are tying us up is that there must be some uniformity in the way links and content are displayed. Ultimately we want each blog to represent its target topic adequately, but s...

Huckleberry Backflips!!!

Artist: Nathan W Winter is fading. Yes, I said it. You see the days are getting longer and the chill doesn't seem to bite so hard anymore. Small birds have flown into town and there is a smell to springtime. Promise. Loving spring reminds me that we are fast approaching a Toyota's favorite time of year: MUD SEASON!!!! Lol! Spring is a time of change, growth and new life. The World of Epimetheus will be delivering that to you this spring as well. In fact, there have been a few requests to share what we have lined up right now and by golly, it would make a perfect thingy to talk about on this here blog. Yessah! Artist: Timothy W. There is a considerable amount of work behind putting these blogs together believe it or not. I am a veteran blogger. Structuring something like this can be complicated and complicated is not easy to describe. In fact, I would say that it is complicated trying to describe anything complicated, but now I am just ove...

Storytime around the campfire

Image
Newpolios    This week I want to talk about the storyline . I was drawn into this fantastical world of myth, magic, and adventures through books. Escaping middle school with dreams about spelunking, discovering boobie traps, and finding hidden treasures leaving behind the troubles of life. The first book I recall reading by choice alone was Sword of Shannara , by Terry Brooks. I was about eleven then and was attending the Auburn Middle School.    That first book began a passion for reading that fed my desire to learn. It has been a boon in so many ways since. I have read to escape the troubles of family life and to distract myself from the days in the solitude of incarceration. I have read to learn and have been blessed to have access to a world wide web. Folks a passion for learning, or educating oneself if you will, is a powerful thing in this informational age. Where I once had to suffer questions no one could answer, I now have access to the ac...
