Hatchling lays her eggs

Part of building this world has revolved around the concept of a simulated environment. Meaning that each NPC, whether it be a bandit on the highway, a dragon in the air or a rabbit hopping about in the forest, has its own similar object structure as the avatars that people are playing. They all have hit points, dexterity, strength, skills, abilities and so forth. They level up and gain benefits just like the avatars. And like the avatars, they will all have a birthplace and growth stages.

Therefore, if you have a pet dog that joins you in battle and survives, it gains a portion of the combat XP and eventually levels up.

Here, let me give you another example. Perhaps you have a horse and you can ride it well. But how well can the horse maneuver? How long can it run before being exhausted? Can it run well with armor? Do you see where I am going with this? And when you add the immense list of mounts, dozens of pets and an ever-growing choice of familiars available, you really get a lot of depth from a peripheral function.

These eggs are a graphical representation (or what we like to call 'concept art') of what will eventually exist in-game as a phase of growth for a dragon. Pretty cool huh? We are always looking for fresh talent and unique contributions. I am including the original art which was drawn by my 12-year-old step-daughter! Personally, I thought the final result was pretty cool.
