Notre Dame Ablaze, Sparks French Pride

Nothing brings people together like a tragedy. For us Americans, it was the horrific sight of people tumbling from the heights of the World Trade Center on live television. Nearly every person in the US and abroad witnessed the flames billowing from the building as that second passenger plane turned missile careened into an already devastating scene. So on some level, I think we can all, as Americans, relate to the terrible mix of emotions that come from witnessing such an event.

Team Epimetheus sends our hearts and prayers to France as a nation. We recognize that there would not have been an America, as we know it, were it not for their intervention in the revolutionary war. We would be remiss not mention that one of the greatest icons of America, the Statue of Liberty, was a gift from our French brothers and sisters. There is a lot of amicable history between our nations, a history we are proud to mention.

In recognition of today's national holiday (Patriots Day) and out of respect for the damage suffered by a french iconic monument we would like to ask that people take this time to appreciate the things that are most important to you. Of course, we love those of you who come to see the game progress and read my somewhat witty posts, but today I would like you to recognize that nothing in this world is permanent. So love your spouse a little more intensely, hug your kids a little longer, scratch your favorite pet behind the ears a few extra times, whatever has value in your life give it a little more attention today/tonight. We aren't going anywhere.

Viva la France!!!
