February Flopped

Hey there, my fine fellows and females. Director Producer Nathan here to give you this month’s post. Our president has just finished his “State of the Union Address”, Ukraine has been attacked by the imperial forces of Russia, Canadian overlord Trudeau is pulling a Senator Palpatine routine and COVID mandates are receding. It really has been a month to record.

On a personal note I have recently lost the most important person in my life. This loss has had me in a daze for the last three weeks. My daughter was everything to me. Without her I have nothing left. So it has been very difficult to find motivation and focus.

Nonetheless, there have been a few advancements in the Elven folder. Notably in maps, my least favorite task to tackle. As we have mentioned before: maps are done by starting from the continent map, zooming in and adding detail as we do so. This allows the terrain to stay consistent and somewhat realistic. In addition, it offers a sort of guide on what is available to that race for resources which is used to dictate trade agreements, technologies, history, religion and trade routes.

Remember that we are establishing a sandbox world that will be inevitably changed by the players. While we will establish settlements, alliances and trade routes, those are likely to be impacted by player actions in one way or another. Creating an initial infrastructure simply provides a robust world to immerse oneself into. New settlements, trade agreements, resource harvesting and industry will be dictated by players.

Water run-off from the mountains in Donmolim (nation of the Mountain Dwarves) feed a large lake that is located in the center of Quiyarus (nation of the Elves). The tributaries that run into this lake have several settlements along their banks. In the spring floods are common and provide fresh nutrients to the land, keeping their harvests bountiful.

I am afraid that is the extent of our additions this month. As always we value any suggestions and input. I am sorry that we don’t have more to report this month. But be on the look out for the quarterly update to recap everything that has taken place so far this year and that which will take place this month.

Remember to keep your dreams alive, your imagination depends on it.
