Roaring Through 2023
Cultural Shortfalls
With so many things going on this year it has been hard to stay on task. The goal was to work on the Trolls this quarter. Having completed the cultural development of the Centaur we worked laboriously at putting the information into the blog. That is where we present the majority of our content.
Upon inserting the culture of the Centaur of Evates, we noticed that there were some serious discrepancies between the races and their respective nations. For one there was a lack of consistency in presentation as well as inconsistencies in the information itself. This simply would not suffice. And so an overhaul of the Races and World pages was needed.
Cultural work on the Trolls requires a level of involvement that isn't available from the team right now. To be completely transparent, we're not really sure where we want to go with them as a race. We know where they live, what they look like and how they are born. But that is where the buck stops. Ok, ok. We also know that they are rivals with the cyclops.
What does that leave you might ask? History, holidays, influential characters, religion, social structures, government type, political agendas, territorial descriptions, and wonders and attractions. This is what we have developed for each race worked on for the last year and a half now. Heck, we even did both the Mountain Dwarves and Breather Dwarves at the same time. But Trolls?
Piloting Success
Of course there is the work on the pilot game that also requires constant attention and effort. In this we have made some progress. There is only one nation that still needs its tier two and three maps to be developed: the Mountain Dwarves. Unlike all the other races, their tier 2 (and up) maps are subterranean and therefore a whole new approach to their development must be established.
Finding a new location to establish our creation labs has been stalled as that requires enough income to support rent and as mentioned previously, our new source of income falls short of a livable one. As a result some side hustles are being looked into as a way to supplement our income. But even those seem to require some sort of fiscal investment.
